UniKoeln-WEB Wi-Fi access in Linux

Setting up a wireless network connection in Linux is done with different tools for different distributions. You should be able to use the instructions for Ubuntu Linux and Redhat Linux to configure other distributions.

For all distributions: You need to switch on Wi-Fi on your laptop and you must install packages for Wi-Fi support and the correct drivers for your Wi-Fi device. To change the network settings, you may need root or sudo rights.
