Multimedia services
The RRZK provides a number of multimedia services. We also give advice on planning and realisation of video and media productions. Our service focuses are:
Video Conference
At the University of Cologne, the video conference service 'Zoom' and the 'DFNconf' service of the German Research Network are currently available for you to use for your own video conferences.
Web Conference
Web conferences are app or browser-based conferences without the need for additional expensive hardware. All you need is a computer, a webcam and optionally a headset. To host a web conference, a browser plug-in is usually required.
Seminar recordings and hybrid lectures
You are planning to record an event in a seminar room/lecture hall that is not yet equipped with the necessary technology. We offer an accompanying advisory service, technical support and recommendations.
Equipment for loan
We have a range of equipment (including accessories) for recording video and audio (for example: cameras, audio recorders, microphones) that can be loaned out by institutions of the university.
Media Production / Video Editing
For the production of your media content, i.e. for capturing, editing and rendering, an on site editing workplace is available at the RRZK. The video editing workstation is equipped with Adobe products and can be booked by the hour. For booking please use our contact form.
Retrodigitization
The RRZK multimedia Group is glad to support you in digitization of analog photgraphs and video recordings, for example transfer VHS-tapes onto DVDs. This is a service which helps to back up your valuable archive data.
We also offer advice on technical problems and support for projects in the context of research and teaching. The scope of support must be clarified in each individual case.
