Video conferencing with 'Zoom'
You can also find information about the zoom video conferencing service on our website.
Video conferences are virtual meetings among distant partners. Video conferences have a number of advantages:
- Reduced cost and time saved for meetings
- Cost saving when guest speakers are invited
- Several specialists at different locations can take part in a meeting
- Regular meetings are made possible at shorter intervals
- Reduction of carbon footprint.
The Deutsche Forschungsnetz offers with the 'DFNconf' service a simple solution for videoconferences with up to 23 video/audio participants and a total of 50 audio participants. Participation is possible with a wide variety of end devices such as a smartphone (via app), via computer (browser-based), with a video conferencing system and even via telephone dial-in. After further development by DFN and Pexip two separate videos can now be displayed, one video track for the presenter and one for a presentation or the screen content of the presenter. For a possible recording two separate videos can be created.
In addition, Pexip meetings can now also be made accessible to the public via live streaming (after separate activation). The streaming link generated in this way can be freely distributed to viewers worldwide. On the streaming page, a text chat is available as a feedback channel.

In addition to an introductory consultation for buying the necessary hardware yourself for your own institute, there is the possibility of booking a small video conference room on request at the RRZK (maximum 6 people during office hours). This is equipped with a permanently installed full video conferencing system but the use of services such as Skype or Adobe Connect is not possible. Use the contact form below for booking enquiries.
