Please be advised that the processing of account applications submitted via in-house mail is still delayed. Please submit account application forms via e-mail to rrzk-helpdesk@uni-koeln.de

Please note:

  • Affixing the the seal of your institute to article 5 of your application is optional. The signature of an authorized executive of the UoC is still mandatory. Further information on eligibility for this role can be found on the application form.

  • You currently have three options for a valid signature under articles 4 and 5 of the guest account application:
    • You sign on a hardcopy version of your application with a pen and scan the fully signed version.

    • You sign a digital version of your account with your autograph signature, either by using a tablet computer or an online tool such as XODO (XODO Instructions).

    • You use a certificate-based digital signature. Click here for further information.

Guest Account

Use this account if you are a guest at the University of Cologne over an extended period of time. You are eligible for a guest account if you are a member of one of the following groups:

  • Visiting scholars
  • Non-enrolled PhD students
  • Privatdozent_innen ('private lecturers') or lecturers without remuneration
  • External staff (from a company cooperating with an academic institution or another university, an affiliated institute, the General Student's Committee, or teaching hospitals)
  • Collaborators from affiliated chairs and institutions on a per-project basis
  • Appointed teaching staff from schools

Features

Access to the internet and the advantages of the university network, such as the library databases, are at your disposal. You may also use the university’s computer labs.

Please note that you will have no access to external services that are verified through Shibboleth. These include, but are not limited to the software shop, sciebo, GigaMove, etc.

Access

  1. Fill out the application form for a guest account (PDF, 163 KB).
  2. Have the application approved by a department (including their official stamp).
  3. Send the application form to the RRZK help desk – you will be sent your login credentials shortly afterwards.
