Techsmith Camtasia Studio

Techsmith Camtasia Studio is a commercial software used to record screen contents (Screen Capturing) and is therefore suited for videotaping as well as recording presentations and lectures etc. Compilation of e-learning contents is also possible. Contents can be produced in several different formats.

Wikis

Wikis are well suited for collaborative work concerned with contents and are therefore put to use in e-learning and blended learning. The RRZK makes Wikis available to University institutions engaged in teaching and research.

Blogs

Blogs are also well suited for work in e-learning or blended learning-environments. Institutes at the University of Cologne can install blog software involved in web projects on their own or they can use the RRZK blog software.

ILIAS

ILIAS is the central e-learning platform at the University of Cologne and can be used by all staff members of the university. All centrally administrated courses with KLIPS (one and two) can also be made available in ILIAS, which offers many functions that can be used very well for e-learning:

  • Social networking functions (For example groups or calendars)
  • Wikis
  • Blogs
  • Glossary
  • Surveys
