Reset network settings
Resetting the network settings can sometimes solve problems when connecting to eduroam.
The following processes are carried out when resetting the network under Windows:
- All network cards are removed, uninstalled and then reinstalled
- Network components are reset to factory settings.
It may be necessary to reconfigure VPN client software and virtual switches.
Instructions under Windows 11
- Click on the Windows icon at the bottom and then enter "Settings". The corresponding application will be displayed in the search. Click on "Settings" (cogwheel symbol) [Fig. 1].
- Click on "Network and Internet" in the left bar and on "Advanced network settings" on the right [Fig. 2].
- Now click on the "Reset network" tab [Fig. 3] and then on the "Reset now" button [Fig. 4].
- You will be asked to confirm the reset of the network settings again. Click on "Yes". [Picture 5].
- A message appears informing you that the computer will be restarted within 5 minutes. Close the message and wait until the computer restarts or perform the restart yourself.
