Set up a virtual mail domain
Additional mail domains are set up when
- an existing mail server is abandoned so that the associated addresses can be used
- there is a need for in-house mail addresses for all employees
The setup of such a virtual mail domain is relatively complicated and is therefore not offered for the desire for individual function addresses. Please request a mail distributor under the @uni-koeln.de domain instead.
Heads and administrators of university facilities can apply for virtual mail domains with an informal letter.
In the application (by e-mail to postmaster) are to be mentioned
- The desired domain name (INSTITUTION.uni-koeln.de, case-insensitive, the name can contain letters, numbers, and hyphens)
- One or more administrators (with personal account, e-mail address and telephone number)
- When applying existing mail domains, a list of mail addresses and assignment to existing personal accounts
