Grant read rights

  1. Establish a network drive connection to the area to be administered.
  2. Open the "Security" card in the "Properties" context menu of the desired folder. Click "Edit" -> "Add" to access the screen for user selection.
  3. Select persons or a group for which you want to assign read rights (Fig. 2). Please note: assigning permissions for the group Domain users (AD\Domain users) means that you are assigning permissions for all persons with an RRZK account (i.e. all students and employees of the university)!
  4. Click on "Edit" -> "Add" to access the screen for user selection.
  5. Select the persons or group of persons for whom you want to assign reading rights:
  6. Make sure that ad.uni-koeln.de is displayed as the search path. If the path is sofs.uni-koeln.de or sofs2.uni-koeln.de, it is not possible to assign rights as persons or groups of persons cannot be found. In this case, establish a VPN connection before establishing the network drive connection.
  7. Assigning authorizations for the group Domain users (AD\Domain users) means that you assign the authorization for all persons with an RRZK account (i.e. all students and employees of the university)!
  8. Exit the selection menu with "OK".
  9. Exit the authorization window with "OK".

Grant write permissions

In addition to the read rights, check the Write box.

 

Grant administrative rights

Activate all checkboxes for administrative access.

 

Cancel access rights

You cancel the access rights by removing people from the "Security" card.

  1. Click on "Edit" to access the area where you can remove people or groups of people.
  2. Select the person or group of people you want to remove and click on "Remove".
  3. Exit all windows with "OK".
