Connect devices initially with the MDM Jamf School

To add iPads or other Apple devices initially to Jamf School there are basically 4 different possibilities of the so-called enrollment.

 

Exemplary the following two common methods for Jamf of the University of Cologne are documented here

  • "Manual Enrollments" for iOS/ iPadOs and macOs
  • "On-Device Enrollment" for iOS/ iPadOs

Alternatively, the configuration profile can be sent via email in Jamf itself or the whole thing can be done via Apple Configurator 2. For the initial enrollment via Apple Configurator 2, please refer to the documentation of Jamf itself.

 

Note on the WLAN connection

For the initial configuration, it is advisable to perform this enrollment via the open network such as UniKoeln-WEB. Also the configuration in the home network / third network is possible without hesitation.
